Harvest, Craft, Local, Regional, Unlimited Choices

Fall has just begun and you only have to read a paper, or an event link to know there are festivals galore in Southwest Virginia. It only depends on how far you want to drive. Next weekend (Oct. 2 & 3 at the high school)  Floyd County's Women's Club is holding their 44th annual Floyd Arts and Crafts  Festival. Now, I have only been to one, I can only dream about the other 42, but I will attend this year again, and it promises to be better than ever. Think unique Christmas present, or gift for any occasion, you will find many one of a kind items which will please the most difficult on your list.
It is open 9-5 on Saturday and 1-5 on Sunday. Don't forget to stop by the quilting displays (down the street in the middle school) and see this years quilts that will be on display, the talent here is truly amazing.
Check it all out at the Floyd County High School in Floyd. VA, it won't disappoint.

Blue Ridge Parkway, 75th Anniversary, NOT OVER

On September 11, 2010 The Blue Ridge Parkway celebrated it 75th anniversary with a variety of activities.
However, the party isn't over, here in Floyd County we celebrate the Parkway as our one of our finest tourist draws to our community. We celebrate it year round, be it for the events that take place on it, or just
of it, like Floyd Fest, Floyd Fandango, (by the way it isn't too early to book your reservation with us for next year at Mountain Song) Highway 8 north exit off of the parkway will bring you into our fun loving town of Floyd where music is available Thursday through Sunday and maybe even on the other days of the week, depending on the occasion. Come take a look, we don't think we will disappoint you in any way.
